Time and Frequency

Time Options

To display TaskMap time options, click the Time tab:

TaskMap Option Time Tab

The Time tab allows you change the default time units for Task and Task Link shapes you add to the current drawing. Note that changing the default will not change the time units associated with any shapes already in the TaskMap drawing – the change will only apply to Task and Task Link shapes added after changing the default.

To change the default time units, click on the radio button in front of the time unit of your choice.

You can also change the abbreviation used for any of the five time units by entering a new one- or two-character abbreviation.

After making the desired changes:

  • Click Apply to save the changes but keep the TaskMap Options dialog open.
  • Click Apply and Close to save the changes and close the dialog.
  • Click Cancel to close the dialog without saving changes.

If you would like to save changes you’ve made on the Time tab for reuse in other TaskMaps, refer to Saving a Customized TaskMap Template.

Frequency Options

To display TaskMap frequency options, click the Frequencies tab:

TaskMap Options Time Frequencies Tab

The Frequencies tab allows you do two things related to the list of frequencies used in Task shapes. You can:

  • Change the abbreviations used for the 13 system-defined frequencies.
  • Create a customized list of frequencies.

To change a system-defined abbreviation, enter a new one- or two-character abbreviation for the frequency of your choice.

To create your own frequencies, enter a one- or two-character abbreviation and the description you would like to have appear in the Frequency of Occurrence pulldown list for the Task properties. In the example below, the user has created a custom frequency of Every third week.

After making the desired changes:

  • Click Apply to save the changes but keep the TaskMap Options dialog open.
  • Click Apply and Close to save the changes and close the dialog.
  • Click Cancel to close the dialog without saving changes.

If you would like to save changes you’ve made on the Frequency tab for reuse in other TaskMaps, refer to Saving a Customized TaskMap Template.
