Task Display On/OffTask Display On/Off

The Task Display On/Off toolbar button allows you to turn the display of optional Task detail data on or off.

Optional data for the Task shape includes Responsible Role, Supporting Role(s), Guidelines, Resources, Frequency, Task Completion Time and Notes. (Refer to the Task shape for more information about each field.)

Note that this button acts like a light switch in that the display of all optional data that has been previously requested will be turned on or off. If you want to control which specific data elements will be displayed when this button turns the display on, refer to Task Display Options.

A Task without optional data displayed looks like this:

The Task illustrated above only has one guideline, resource and supporting role. A Task may have as many as five (5) guidelines or resources and two (2) supporting roles. TaskMap will display as many values as are entered in the optional data.

When Tasks are Selected

If you select one or more Tasks before clicking on the Task Display On/Off button, you will see the following dialog box, indicating that you can change the Task display for the selected Task(s), all Tasks on the current page, or all Tasks in the current Visio drawing file.

Task Display On/Off button

The first line in the Task Display box above indicates if the Task Data will be turned "On" or "Off". When Tasks are selected, the system determines whether the data should be turned on or off based upon the display options of the last Task selected. If the last task selected has the display options "On", then the Task Display option will turn all the selected Tasks "Off" and visa versa.

When Tasks are Not Selected

If you have not selected any Tasks before clicking on the Task Display On/Off button, you will see the following dialog box, indicating that you can change the Task display for all Tasks on the current page, or all Tasks in the current Visio drawing file.
