During the next few posts we will examine three different types of flowchart. The basic flowchart consists of a number of symbols to ensure that each aspects of the process map can be presented effectively. In order to create the basic flowchart you will need:
- A set of symbols and instructions for how to use them. This will include, tasks, links, decision diamonds and connectors. (See the chart below for details)
- A product to create the flowchart. Typically PowerPoint or Visio will be a good choice here.
- An understanding of drawing and presentation techniques
- A legend for your flowchart so others can understand and interpret your process map.
