Testing process maps for readability is often one of the great omissions of process map authors. After all what is the point in distributing these great works of art if the audience can’t read them? You may well have just wasted a lot of time and energy. By testing the maps on your audience the following is achieved:
- Detail level is appropriate for the audience
- Easy to read and understand
- Maps are not ambiguous or difficult to comprehend for the expertise level of the reader

So after you have received feedback from your target audience, final checklist steps are made:
- Check for accuracy of the information, actions and outcomes
- Determine if maps are easy to understand for the intended audience
