Once your process maps are completed and ready to be published there is one final step. The review. During this final but important step the goals are to:
- Ensure the completeness of the maps
- Confirm the accuracy of the collected data
- Gain consensus for the ‘as is’ or ‘to be’ process. This can be particular important and difficult if people have different ideas about what the “correct” process is or should be.
- Finally it is important to confirm that the processes captured and decisions made are in line with the goals and objectives of the project
Completing this review will often require a combination of face to face meetings, webinars or emailed materials. Make sure enough time is allocated to receive feedback and integrate it back into the process. Ensure the review team understands that this will be going “public” and any deadlines for feedback are important for them as well. Call, email or set meetings as needed to gain concurrence.
