Getting your BPM project started

Jul 12th, 2011 by TaskMap

Group of business people working together in the office. To ensure that your BPM project is going to be a resounding success, or at least reduce the risk of failure as much as possible, use this check list.

  1. Ensure the business goals and benefits are agreed by management.
  2. Engage executive sponsorship for the project and keep them involved.
  3. If a budget is needed, make sure it is there and tracked along every stage of the project.
  4. Publish the project plan to all involved, along with expected outcomes and roles.
  5. Make sure the tools to document, measure and communicate the project are in place for those that need them. If not get them in place before you start.
  6. Learn from others who have done this before, either in the organization or outside if needed.
